Dr. P. Raghu Ram is amongst the foremost surgeons in Asia Pacific region. Acclaimed for his innovative initiatives that have transformed breast healthcare in India, he is a recipient of the prestigious Padma Shri (2015), and Dr. B.C Roy National Award (2016), the highest honour bestowed to a doctor practicing in India. He is one of the youngest elected to serve as President of The Association of Surgeons of India (2020) -- Asia Pacific’s largest and world’s second largest surgical organization representing the surgical fraternity in the country. He was the driving force behind formation of the Association of Breast Surgeons of India -- South Asia’s first dedicated Breast Surgical Society and was unanimously elected to serve as its President (2015-2017). The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh conferred him with International Gold Medal (2013) -- the highest recognition bestowed upon surgeons practicing outside United Kingdom. He is also the youngest ever recipient of this impressive award in the 515 years history of the college.
